  • How can I promote my company with
There are several effective ways to promote your company on Sail Miami:

    - Extended Listings
    - Banner Ads
    Featured Ads
    - Web Pages
  • What is an Extended Listing?
An Extended Listing differentiates your company from the competition with a three line description of your company's services, plus a link to your website if you have one, your email address, and all of your contact information. The Extended Listing is displayed in a larger font with a bold title. The Extended Listings appear at the top of the page under the header "Featured Companies" so our readers see your company first, long before they scroll down the page to where the free listings are located.
  • Why does my company need an Extended Listing on Sail Miami?
Your company needs an Extended Listing so that clients can find you first. An Extended Listing makes your company stand out among the other companies in your category. It gives potential clients the information you want them to know about you right from the get go. An Extended Listing is designed to invite your potential clients to call, email or visit your website immediately.
  • How much does an Extended Listing cost?
An Extended Listing costs $50 for one year on one page.

For example if your company is a Marina/Boat Yard and you would like an Extended Listing on the Marinas page and the Boat Yards page, the total cost would be $50 x 2 = $100.
  • What determines the order in which the Extended Listings are displayed?
Prior to May 2005, the Extended Listings were displayed in alphabetical order by title. Since May 2005 however, we have changed our policy to 'first come, first served' which means that those who advertise first will be first on the list, and so on.
  • What determines the title of an Extended Listing?
The title of an Extended Listing is determined by the following:
    - The corporation name
    - In the case of a sole proprietorship or partnership the official company name.
    - In the case of a charter vessel or captain, the boat's name or the captain's last name.
    - DBA's are not acceptable as a corporation or company name.

  • What will affect my spot on the list?
Your Extended Listing will appear on the next available row under "Featured Listings" on the page. With our new placement policy of May 2005, your listing will never go further down the list, as long as you remain an active advertiser. Also, if an advertiser further up on the list decides to leave, your listing will actually go up the list. Your listing can never go down, and can only go up!

If you do not renew your advertisement, however, we cannot hold your place for you. If you decide to advertise again at a later date, your ad will be placed on the next available row, as described above.
  • I was an advertiser before May 2005. How does the new policy affect me?
As long as you remain an active advertiser, your spot on the list will remain unchanged. You will not lose your position, and can only move up if another company leaves. The new policy is not retroactive, meaning that we will not reorganize our list prior to May 2005, only new advertisers are affected by this change.

Many companies choose this because it has proven to be a very effective combination of advertisements, especially when you have a very targeted product or service, such as a Surveyor, Charter company, Boat Yard, etc. The banner draws the reader's attention to the Extended Listing and together they give the reader many compelling reasons why they should contact you.

  • How do I know if my ads on Sail Miami are sending clients to my company?
Every paid ad (Extended Listing, banner, webpage, etc.) comes with FREE customized, up-to-the-minute statistics. Your statistics will tell you how many people saw your ad and how many people clicked on it and went to your website. This fe
ature is optional, however, not automatic.

  • Why are traffic statistics included, but optional?
To activate traffic statistics for your ad means that we have to replace your direct link with a piece of Javascript code. The code routes your traffic through our ad traffic statistics program (Open Ads) before proceeding to your website. This happens within milliseconds, and is not noticeable to the viewer. The ad traffic statistics program independently keeps track of how many views and clicks your ads receive. Traffic statistics are very valuable to determine your ROI, however, for search engine optimization you may wish to keep your direct link instead. This is a matter of preference for each individual advertiser. If you have a robust traffic statistics program on your server and are able to keep track of your website's traffic yourself, then the traffic stats that come with your ad are redundant and not necessary. If you have no idea how to check your websites traffic statistics, then this feature will keep track of your ad's performance for you, and you can log in periodically to see how many people view and click on your ad.

  • How can I check my ads' statistics?
Once your ad is active on, if you have selected the traffic statistics option, we will send you an email with a username and password and a link to your customized statistics panel. When you click on the link all you have to do is enter the username and password to access your stats.

  • How often can I check my ads' statistics?
You can check your statistics as often as you need to.
  • Can I download reports from the statistics panel?
Yes. The statistics panel allows you to download different reports into an Excel spreadsheet for further analysis.

  • OK, I'm convinced. How do I sign up for an ad?
To set up an Extended Listing, Banner Ad or Webpage just visit our Advertising Request Form and fill out all of the fields. We will begin creating your ad upon receipt of payment.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards (VISA or Mastercard) as well as corporate checks. All ads must be paid in full before publishing to the website.
  • Do you automatically bill my credit card every time my ad is up for renewal?
