October 15th, Shake-A-Leg Anniversary Celebration

October 15th, Historic Oleta River Canoe Trip
Catch a view of many wading birds and mammals in their natural habitats and visit an undisturbed Tequesta Indian midden. 10 am - 1 pm. Greynolds Park, Northeast 167th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, North Miami Beach, FL. For reservations, call 305-365-3018. $25 adults; $15 children 14 and younger.


October 16th, The annual Head of the Indian Creek is a 2.7 mile race against the clock on scenic Indian Creek in the heart of Miami Beach. Race categories cover the entire range of competitors (high school, masters, colleges and open classes) from recreation singles to championship eights. Medals are awarded to the first three places in all races, and trophies are given to the highest point college, club and high school. The "Creek" gets bigger every year, and is always a lot of fun.
