The Com-Pac 23 has been made by Hutchins Co. Inc. since 1978 and is still in production today as their top of the trailerable Com-Pac line. The Com-Pac 23 offers accommodations and equipment which make her a most exceptional cruiser. She has a two cabin layout for privacy, , a 29" deep shoal draft keel, a 2005 Tohatsu 4 stroke, 6 HP outboard, fully serviced (2008) and a kick-up rudder. The Com-Pac 23 is ready for extended cruising and gunkholing. Below, you will find loads of storage space, generous sized berths for four adults, a port- a-potty compartment w/ privacy curtain, a hanging locker, a removable interior bulk head mounted teak dining table and a companion way galley w/ a hand pump from a 6 gallon water tank and w/ a cooler storage compartment. The V-Berth is just over 6' wide x 7' deep and can be made up as a double birth or 2 singles. The 2 setties, each provide a sleeping birth that is 8' long. The six bronze screened opening ports, large foredeck hatch and companion way provide generous ventilation. The extensive hand finished teak wood trim around the cabin top, the teak bulkhead w/ hanging locker, the teak holly floor and white planked molded fiberglass ceiling give the feel of tradition. The Navy Sunbrella Canvas, vertical cabin top w/ 6 round brass ports, the 5 brass cleats, the 3 brass winches, teak trim and the 2 tone maple tiller give her that classic look of a vintage yacht. The Sunbrella covers include the bimini w/ cover, the sail cover, a jib ready bag, 2 winch covers, a tiller cover and an outboard engin cover. The large 7' - 2' self-bailing cockpit provides generous room for your guests and room to stretch out when at anchor. The cockpit has a removable teak grate floor, a well ventilated hidden gas tank storage compartment, a stern pulpit w/ safety lines and 2 large storage lockers. The hull and deck are fabricated of hand laid fiberglass and each is molded in one piece. The long 27" deep keel is poured into the hull to add to the safty of the yacht. Only the hull is below the water line when the boat is docked. There are no through-hulls, seams, centerboard or separate keel to fail. When docked the kick-up aluminum rudder, and the engine are completely out of the water to prevent fouling by sea life. The deck has core material over 100% of its surface for rigidity and insulation. With her 27" draft and 7'10" beam, the Com-Pac 23 is trailerable. She is the "go anywhere yacht".
