This position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of forklifts and other mechanical equipment at a Marina facility. Responsibilities includes operating a forklift to lift materials 15 tons or greater, load, unload, stack and transport equipment and vessels to their designated locations. Employees in this classification must adhere to the safety rules and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies. These employees must perform related work as required. REQUIREMENTS: Considerable (2 – 4 years) experience in the operation of forklifts. Experience operating a forklift in a dry storage marina, and handling vessels up to 36 feet “length over all” (L.O.A.) and 14,000 lbs “gross weight” (G.W.) is preferred. | Construction Manager -
Derecktor Shipyards, in business since 1947, is a new yacht and commercial craft construction in aluminum and steel, and repair facility.
The Construction Manager (CM) will be responsible for all facets of project execution including, but not limited to, direction and coordination of the trades and management and administration of the project and construction subcontracts. The CM is responsible for supervision of all trades on assigned projects. The CM will be based in Bridgeport, CT but may be expected to travel from time to time to our facility located in Mamaroneck, NY where a portion of the project is being built. While not otherwise involved in project-specific assignments, the CM will support other project and proposal efforts. Support will include, but not be limited to estimating, procurement, project controls, etc.
Duties:
The CM will also be responsible for: Administering and managing construction activities, Monitoring progress of the overall design as related to construction requirements, Performing value engineering and constructability reviews, Assisting in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages, Coordinating, expediting, and reviewing construction submittals, Managing subcontract packages, Responding to requests for information, Controlling the project budget and schedule, Coordinating and managing project quality assurance and control, and inspection services, Managing project safety, Ensuring subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections, Preparing and updating project schedules, daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reports, Project setup, Material delivery coordination and inspection; Id purchases, Coordinate trades; Layout; Subcontractor coordination; As-built drawings, Participating in post-construction review, Maintaining a clean and organized project site, Knowledge of contract documents; Jobsite security; Documenting all trade Work Directives, Communicate all changes in scope to PM.
