Baynanza's 29th anniversary is scheduled to take place on Saturday April 16, 2011, from 9 a.m. - noon. Baynanza is a fun-filled, six-week-long extravaganza that celebrates one of our most precious natural resources, Biscayne Bay, and its surroundings.

While Baynanza includes approximately 35 great events throughout March and April, the event that has become nearly synonymous with this celebration is the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day.

For the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, there are 31 cleanup sites around Miami-Dade County to choose from, so chances are that there is one site near you! But hurry because the registration deadline is April 1.

This community event draws more than 7,500 volunteers out to the shores and islands of our Bay every year. In 2010, they collectively removed a record amount of more than 40 tons of garbage from our shorelines and nearby islands.
