Deefield Beach,FL - It was a big day at the races today as the Super Boat Grand Prix roared into South Florida waters. Super boat rivals Mapei and The Hulk duked it out in 10 laps, totaling 64 miles.
In the end, Mapei beat The Hulk by 17 seconds, earning its fourth national title in the Stock class. The two identical boats have had a strong rivalry and have been breathing down each other's neck in the Super Boat standings, with only 20 points separating both boats for the national championship.
In the Super Vee class, "Rio Roses Fountain stayed on top, averaging 87.78 mph over the 83.2-mile course to finish in 56:52," reported the Miami Herald.

The Key West World Championships will attract up to 80 race boats to participate in the week long event which includes 9 races held on three separate days, three races each day.
