A do-it-yourself engine test, EngineCheckUp received an Innovation Award in the maintenance category at the 2007 Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show in Las Vegas.

Oil is in constant contact with the engine components and absorbs the byproducts of the combustion process as it circulates. EngineCheckUp is a one-step diagnostic system which detects and identifies the contaminants present in oil, reflecting the condition of the engine and revealing what would normally require expensive mechanical work to investigate.

EngineCheckUp works with oil from any four-cycle gasoline or diesel engine, including outboards, inboards, generators, bilge pumps and cleaning equipment. A test requires only one drop of warm oil applied to the medium to determine the state of oil, engine efficiency and presence of contaminants, water, fuel or anti-freeze – and the degree of each.

There's no need to drain oil as the sample is effortlessly taken from the dipstick. Users simply compare tests results to an easy-to-understand graphics key to determine the type and degree of contamination and recommendations. No tools or professional assistance are needed.

"A blood test for your engine, this product is a great first step to assessing an engine's health at low cost," said Alan Jones, Innovation Award judge and executive editor of Boating World magazine.

Saving time and money, this one-step, do-it-yourself test helps boaters monitor the engine to schedule maintenance only when necessary. It is also ideal for prospective boat buyers, mechanics and surveyors.

EngineCheckUp is convenient and compact, measuring only 6.3" x 9.1." The test can be used anytime, anywhere and is packaged in a waterproof PVC pouch.

Economical EngineCheckUp has a suggested retail price of $19.99 for six tests. It has been tested, approved and endorsed by TUV, an internationally recognized German testing authority for efficacy and claim substantiation.
