The Pompano Beach Nautical Flea Market is back after the park that hosts the event was slamed by Wilma in October 2005. Repairs have been made, debris cleaned up and the cities of Lighthouse Point and Pompano Beach promise a good nautical time this weekend.
Rumor has it that lots of surplus boat gear from all those trashed boats will be showing up at the Nautical Flea Market this year, so if you're looking for that GPS or Fishfinder, or maybe even a radar or nice set of anchors, chances are you may find it at a bargain. If you are in the market for a new boat, or a "pre-owned" vessel as it were, there'll be plenty of those this year too.

In its 16th year, the LPPB Nautical Flea Market has consistently drawn larger crowds and more vendors, year after year. Not everything is used, however. Nautical art, home decor, apparel, snorkel and scuba gear, as well as fun things like new gadgets to fish with, and our favorite, the surplus Sperry guy, all make an appearance at this two-day event.
Admission is $3 per person and parking is FREE. Children under age 15 get in free with a paid adult. Sorry no pets allowed.
The nautical flea market is held at the Pompano Community Park at 830 NE 18th Avenue in Pompano Beach, Florida. The park is located by the Amphitheatre - just west of Federal Highway (US #1) between NE 6th & 10th Streets.
Hours on Saturday (January 21) are from 8 am to 5 pm and on Sunday (January 22) from 8 am to 3 pm.
From I-95 exit at Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach and head east. Go about 3 miles to US #1 (also known as Federal Highway). Turn left (north) and go to NE 6th Street. Turn west and go to the stop sign (NE 18th Ave). Turn right & the flea market will be on the right.
If you go, please stop by the Atlantic Coast Boating booth, and say hi!
